Content Production Update

This blog thing started as a hobby to produce help for RC and just some road trips.  I learned that even trying to do one blog post a week is a challenge.  I thought, “How hard can it be to produce one post a week?”  The challenge is producing a consistent theme or following a path. I confess that my scatterbrained nature was coming out. One week was the slash, the next week was a motorcycle, and I am learning about batch production or some fancy game plan like that. The reality is I use a Mac because the smart folders and file system rewards people who sorted their laundry by clean pile next to dirty pile. Yeah, my college dorm room was not very pretty, but I managed to keep my clothes clean.

So, the start of this is that I am working on videos.  My YouTube channel, which was sort of alive, but not really alive, and is being revived without the awkwardness of mouth to mouth.  My goal is to produce a video once a week and to have a blog post about it.  The current theme is the Nitro Slash.  I will do the Nitro Slash until I have the truck finished.

On a fun side I scored a GoPro Max 360 through B&H. They were on a pretty crazy sale for a few weeks. However, this camera is motivating me to produce content.  I am playing with the camera and I speculate that this camera will be a Paulie’s pick.  I like the GoPros because I have shot them off RC cars, they have tumbled, and they lived to tell the tale.  Now, they were not pretty after the fact.  I have even taken some superficial scratches out of the lens by using light polish from Griot’s Garage.  They have a plastic polish that is the bomb!  It will not take the haze out of headlights, but if you apply it consistently, then the headlights will stay purty.  I look forward to playing with that camera and shooting video.

The last point I want to make is that I scored Final Cut Pro, Logic, Motion, and Compressor for 200 smackers.  If you are an educator and you can produce the proof that you are incorporating this into your education program, then you qualify to score this deal from Apple.  It is legit, and you get full copies from the App Store.  I know Davinci Resolve is free, I have played with it, and it rocks on color correction.  It is way better if you want to collaborate on one project.  However, for a quick and easy way to get videos edited and work on audio, Final Cut is the bomb.

I put together a video below on how I imported and edited a 360 video, so you don’t have to view the world through lizard eyes! If you pulled the video directly off the camera, then you know what I mean.  So, I wanted to at least post an update as I work on video content. Thanks again for reading! I look forward to the future journey.
